Donate to the Program
Schreder Planetarium has had the privilege of serving the public and all of our local schools with exciting science educational opportunities as well as several special events for the past 30 years. The Schreder Planetarium continues to be a positive community fixture in Redding.
The Schreder Planetarium is funded through the Shasta County Office of Education, as well as through donations and grants. Due to the current economy and the status of our State budget, we will no longer have the amount of general funding available as we have in the years past. In the 2009-2010 season we will be operating at 89% less than 2008.
Unfortunately, this affects our availability to provide the level of programing requested by the public and our local schools. Therefore, Schreder Planetarium will be offering shows this year at a reduced schedule. In these challenging times, we will be looking for creative ways to make up this budget shortfall. The 2009-2010 calendar of scheduled public shows is available here.
If you are interested in partnering with us by helping us purchase a show, sponsoring a school to attend a fieldtrip, sponsor an exhibit, sponsor a student attending our summer camps, or making a generous donation to our program, you may do so here.
All contributions directly support youth development in the fields of Science. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will help us along the path of maintaining this very educational program.
