Student Service Opportunities
Shasta Week of Service (SWOS), October 25th - 29th, provides sites with
resources and an outline to serve their schools and communities. The purpose of SWOS is to engage Shasta County students, school staff and citizens in a high quality meaningful service activity that positively impacts the school or community, during a short-targeted timeframe. In collaboration with AmeriCorps Volunteers, schools can complete a service project during the week of October 25th – 30th, which aligns with the National Make A Difference Day, held on October 23rd. Participating schools will receive recognition at the Serve and Learn Showcase.
The Serve and Learn Showcase was held on March 31st, 2010. Posterboards displaying student projects were highlights of the event. This year's showcase will be held in conjunction with the Youth Leadership Summit
